What you need to / should provide to the annoucer for a successful event
Submit request for announcing at your event

There are certain things needed from the race director that will allow the announcer to make the event "sound" more professional.

Please provide the following on the date of the event:

  • Generator or power outlet providing 110-120 volt AC (normal) electrical power within 50 feet of the announcer's designated area (Usually you need to provide the same power for the officials - we can share a single generator with no problem).
  • Schedule of the day's events.
  • Legible start lists about 15 minutes prior to each race during your event day (Should include the racer's number, name, and team in some sort of numerical order - the same sheets that you hand to the Race Officials are fine). This is the key to good announcing - otherwise your announcing be rather bland without racer's names and will sound like "Coming out of the final turn; It's a close sprint between a guy on a bike and another guy on another bike, and at the line, a guy on a bike wins the race!"
  • List of race sponsors and any special information that you want said about them.
  • List of special announcements (if any).
  • List of prizes and primes (preems) for the race.
  • For lapping races, any preferences as to when primes should be announced (if any).
  • Any other event background and race course information that you can provide.
  • Any music preferences and/or MP3s / CD's / tapes you would like played during the day (in addition to the announcers collections).
  • Food and drink - same provisions given to or required by your officials.
